Client Links Menu

Towards the bottom of the client's detail page is a Client Links Menu.

This contains multiple sections which allow you to link clients to their cases and to other people.

Cases

This shows you the cases that apply to this client. Typically, each client would only have a single open case, although this may not always be true, primarily if multiple partners work with the same client.

In the above example, the client has a single case open (any status other than CLOSED is an open case.

You can click anywhere on that row to open the Case View to see and update that case.

Relationships

This is used to link to other client records related to this client. These may be children, current and former intimate partners, or family/friends involved in the case.

There is an "Add Relationship" option in the left-hand menu.

This opens a search screen, allowing you to add someone who has already entered the client database or add someone new.

 

The details you enter on this screen will be used to check the existing client database. Any entries that match will be displayed, or a message that none exists will allow you to create a new database entry.

If you click Add new client, you will get an entry screen allowing you to add the appropriate person.

When you save this person, you will be taken back to the client details screen. If you click relationships, the added person will be listed below the Client Links bar.
