Documents on Daisy, why PDF? Why is ISSP different?

What format should documents be uploaded to Daisy in?

Documents should normally be uploaded to Daisy as PDF files, rather than as Word documents, Outlook messages, images or videos.

PDF provides a fixed-format version of the document that is less easily altered. This is particularly important for documents that may be shared with or released to clients. Converting a document to PDF usually takes only a couple of clicks and helps ensure that Daisy holds the correct version.

Why is the ISSP stored as a Word document?

The ISSP is an exception because it is designed to be updated throughout the case.

When reviewing an ISSP:

  1. Download the current Word version from Daisy.

  2. Make the required updates.

  3. Upload the updated document as a new ISSP record.

This allows us to see how the ISSP has changed throughout the case, much like multiple versions of the DASH provide a history of its review and development.
