Merging Clients on Daisy
The issue: Daisy has a built-in merge feature, but it doesn't merge records in the way we need it to. We've raised this with the developers, who've confirmed it won't be changing in the near future.
The new process: Going forward, when a duplicate is found, we will always keep the lower client number and remove the higher one.
If you spot a duplicate:
Identify the two client numbers and confirm which is lower.
Check both records for information or profile details that differ — if the higher-numbered client has information that's more accurate, more up to date, or missing from the lower-numbered client, update the lower-numbered record yourself so it's correct and complete.
Once that's done, log a help desk ticket requesting the two CL- numbers to be merged. We'll take it from there. If you miss step 2, you’ll have to update the record afterwards, there is no “unmerge”.
If you're unsure whether something is a genuine duplicate, or have any questions about this process, please get in touch.
Please note: Cases cannot be merged, only clients. If you have duplicate cases open for a client, you need to approach this differently.
