Perpetrator Case Statuses Explained

01. Referral Entered

Description: When a perpetrator case is added to the system, this is the status it starts at. Typically, this is initiated by the receipt of a referral, but it can also be created as an internal transfer or referral to another Cranstoun Service.

02. Contact Client

Description: The next part of the process is to contact the client. In some cases, there is a KPI relating to how quickly we make our first attempt to contact, so this should be done as soon as possible.
Available Services: Case Note / Contact Attempt / Client Contacted
Next Expected Status: Assessment
Other Possible Next Statuses: Waiting List / Referral Issues / Closure

03. Assessment

Description: The client is willing to engage with services and now needs to go through the assessment process, which will include an Initial Assessment, the Full Risk Assessment and the Initial Evaluation.
Available Services: Case Note / Assessment Checklist / Needs Matrix / Record a Need / Perp Initial Assessment / Perp Risk Assessment / Perp Initial Evaluation
Next Expected Status: Attending
Other Possible Next Statuses: Waiting List /  Closure / Suspended

04. Waiting List

Description: If the client is unable to start group or one-on-one work immediately due to a lack of capacity, the case will be assigned to the Waiting List status. It is possible to go onto the waiting list immediately from first contact without assessment if the waiting period is extensive. It's vital that, from the waiting list, the case is returned to 'assessment' status where no previous assessment has taken place.

05. Attending

Description: The client is actively attending groupwork or 1:1 session with workers.
Available Services: Case Note / Create Needs Matrix / Record Client Need / Case Activity / Interim Evaluation / Perp Risk Assessment / Key or Group Work Note
Next Expected Status: Closure
Other Possible Next Statuses: Dropped Out / Suspended

91. Referral Issues

Description: There is an issue with the referral, typically due to a lack of contact information, and the referrer will need to be contacted to resolve the matter. 
Available Services: Case Note / External Referral / Update Referrer 
Next Expected Status: Contact Client 
Other Possible Next Statuses: Closure

92. Dropped Out

Description: The next part of the process is to contact the client. In some cases, there is a KPI relating to how quickly we make our first attempt to contact, so this should be done as soon as possible.
Available Services: Case Note / Update Referrer 
Next Expected Status: Attending
Other Possible Next Statuses: Waiting List / Suspended / Closure

93. Suspended

Description: Client was engaging, but for some reason they are no longer able to attend due to bail conditions, behavioural issues or other circumstances. This status is likely to be used before closure unless it's likely that the suspension can be quickly lifted and the client resumes their course.

98. Closure

Description: The case is ready for closure, with both group and individual work now complete. We need to inform the referrer that the case is to be closed, and, where appropriate, advise the partner support worker. We also need to complete a Final Evaluation with the perpetrator before closure.

Next Expected Status: Closed

Closed

Description: The case is complete and closed; no further support is required.
