Victim Case Statuses Explained

01. Referral Entered

Description: When a victim case is added to the system, this is the status it starts at. Typically, this is initiated by the receipt of a referral, but it can also be created as an internal transfer or referral to another Cranstoun Service.

Next Expected Status: Contact Client
Other Possible Next Statuses: Referral Issues / Closure

02. Contact Client

Description: The next part of the process is to contact the client. In some cases, there is a KPI relating to how quickly we make our first attempt to contact, so this should be done as soon as possible.
Available Services: Case Note / Client Contacted / Contact Attempt / External Referral / Record Consent
Next Expected Status: Assessment
Other Possible Next Statuses: Dormant / Referral Issues / Closure

03. Assessment

Description: The client has indicated that they require support, even if infrequently, and we now need to conduct a Safe Lives Assessment and develop a Support and Safety Plan.
Available Services: Case Note / Assessment Checklist / Cranstoun SSOAG / External Referral / Add ISSP / Record Consent /  Safe Lives Assessment
Next Expected Status: Ongoing Support
Other Possible Next Statuses: Declined Support / Dormant / Closure

05. Ongoing Support

Description: Support has started and will continue as long as required.
Available Services: Case Note / Case Activity / Cranstoun SSOAG / External Referral / Add ISSP / Record Consent /  Safe Lives Assessment
Next Expected Status: Closure
Other Possible Next Statuses: Dormant / Dropped Out / Closure

91. Referral Issues

Description: There is an issue with the referral, typically due to a lack of contact information, and the referrer will need to be contacted.
Available Services: Case Note / External Referral / Update Referrer
Next Expected Status: Contact Client
Other Possible Next Status: Closure

92. Dropped out

Description: Client was engaging but has not replied to several messages or has missed several meetings. This status is likely to be used before closure.
Available Services: Case Note / Update Referrer
Next Expected Status: Ongoing Support
Other Possible Next Status: Closure

94. Dormant

Description: Client has a partner, or ex-partner, who is attending MMP, but the victim doesn't want ongoing support, and needs to be retained as open until the perpetrator has completed their course to check for any further support required.

Next Expected Status: Ongoing Support
Other Possible Next Status: Closure

95. Declined Engagement

Description: The Client didn't want support from the initial contact onwards.
Available Services: Case Note / Update Referrer
Next Expected Status: Closure
Other Possible Next Status: Assessment / Dormant

96. Declined Support

Description: The Client initially indicated they wanted support, but before the assessment, they then changed their mind.
Available Services: Case Note / Update Referrer
Next Expected Status: Closure
Other Possible Next Status: Assessment / Dormant

98. Closure

Description: The case is ready for closure. We need to inform the referrer that the case is to be closed and complete any other required forms, ideally including a new Safe Lives Assessment and an evaluation with the client.

Next Expected Status: Closed
Other Possible Next Status: Assessment / Ongoing Support

Closed

Description: The case is complete and closed; no further support is required.
Available Services: Case Note
Next Expected Status: None
